WebDrive is a bit different than other FTP programs in that it supports a virtual drive, so files can be transferred by saving them to a drive letter. It can also be used as a secure VPN.

This program acts more like a drive than the standard FTP program and can even be assessed as WebDrive (W) in Windows. We could find little information on the type of proxies and protocols supported, but it is SOCKS 5 compatible and works with Raptor type firewalls.

It supports onetime use passwords and offers verifications through XMD4 and XMD5. It works with Microsoft FrontPage extensions and can cache files and directories for quick access.

Individual licenses are $59.95 or you can purchase packs of ten for $449.95, each includes one year of updates. They offer localized versions in English, Japanese, German and French.

Although this product can be useful, it is much different than other FTP type programs and did not fair as well as others in this review. But if you are looking for an affordable VPN, you may want to investigate WebDrive.
